When it comes to weddings, the days of the traditional up style and matching bag and shoes are long gone. Say hello to funky top and skirt combos and flowing locks and sexy braids, there's a new wave of wedding guest style and it's time to get on board.
Although it's already July, I have four wedding yet to come this year. So, like any normal person I am on full on stalk mode to get some style inspiration, and none serves me better than the photo above. No, this isn't a stock image of top London models, these are some friends at a recent wedding in Kells, Co. Meath. Sally Mullan, queen of the feature skirt, wowed the guests with her full length skirt from Dublin boutique Om Diva.

2015 has been the year of the feature skirt and, as we approach the Autumn months, they are still on our wedding wishlist. For Autumn Winter weddings, the new season is full of dramatic skirts with clean silhouettes, long lines and opulent autumnal colours.

While they are more expensive than your average high street skirt, they will transition seamlessly into your winter wardrobe teamed with black tights, so technically â" itâs an investment!

High street retailer Coast is the one stop shop for the perfect feature skirt and they stock a variety of styles and sizes. To perfect the look, opt for a plain top to allow the skirt speak for itself.

| Lisa and Maedhbh! |
Lisa in blue is rocking her inner Elsa with her fab sequin top and side braid. I'm almost sure she told me the sequin top was from Topshop, but I had a few gins at that stage, so I will confirm and update! Maedhbh in floral proves that it's possible to rock full length without being too dressy, teamed with causal swept back hair and a black sandal, she nails it - as usual. Here we both are near the end of the night, not too bad considering it was 1am!

You might recognise my dress as one of the options from my 30th birthday post, it's from Want That Trend and was a bargain at â¬30.
So should you have a wedding coming up, think outside the box when it comes to choosing your style. Think long flowing locks or simple swept back hair and maybe even try the Sally special in a feature skirt.
To Chris and Aisling thank you for a wonderful night at your wedding and to Mick and Avril, Sinead and David, Avis and JD and Fiona and Eddie, I promise to bring some serious style to your weddings later this year!
